  • Q. Do I need a referral?


    A. Most insurance companies require that you receive a referral from your primary care doctor. Please call us if you have any questions.


    Q. I am already seeing an eye doctor. Why should I see another one?

    A. We specialize just on the retina. Therefore, if your doctor asked you to come and see us, then it is a good idea. Many conditions that we treat may result in irreversible vision decrease if left untreated.


    Q. How long will my visit last?


    A. Your visit can last from 1 hour to 3 hours depending on the severity of your condition and the testing that may need to be performed.


    Q. Should I bring a driver?


    A. It is advisable to bring a driver since your eyes will be dilated and you may undergo a procedure. This will make it more difficult for you to drive.


    Q. What side effects will I experience?


    A. If your eyes are dilated, then the dilation will cause your eyes to become more sensitive to light and decrease your vision, especially up close. This may last from hours to days. You should call if you experience pain or decreased vision.
